The recycling company SKAPA constructed a UBC aluminum can processing plant at the ecoplus Beteiligungspark Kottingbrunn, which can recycle about 3,000 tons of aluminum cans per year. These days, the ceremonial opening took place with Economic and Technology Provincial Councilor Dr. Petra Bohuslav. "Innovative companies like SKAPA Recycling GmbH are of great importance for the province of Lower Austria. They secure important jobs - like SKAPA with its 15 employees - and focus on sustainable products," said Economic Affairs Provincial Councilor Dr. Petra Bohuslav at the opening ceremony.

SKAPA Holding GmbH settled two years ago with two subsidiaries in the ecoplus Beteiligungspark CCK Kottingbrunn on an 11,000-square-meter property in a rented building. SKAPA Mining & Trading GmbH has been active for years in the metal trading sector and in ore processing in Africa, SKAPA Recycling GmbH specializes in the recycling of aluminum cans, buys used aluminum cans throughout Austria and markets the recycled UBC (Used Beverage Cans) cans exclusively to an English partner. The construction of the new UBC plant at the ecoplus Beteiligungspark Kottingbrunn had become necessary due to the increased demand for cans. With the new plant, in which the company invested 500,000 euros, it is possible to recycle about 10 to 15 tons of aluminum cans per day, or about 3,000 tons per year. The special feature of this innovative apparatus is its single-variety processing.

The Craft Center Kottingbrunn business park, which covers an area of 45 hectares, was founded in 2001 and is an ecoplus investment park - 65 percent ecoplus Beteiligungen GmbH, 30 percent Vienna Region and 5 percent Kottingbrunn municipality. In the meantime, nine companies with almost 700 jobs are located here.
